PH32836: Liberty Spring Boot application stuck in disabling state

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A Spring Boot application is deployed to a Liberty JVM server
  running in CICS.  If an incorrect configuration is specified in
  server.xml which the application requires then the application
  will fail to start.  However CICS will fail to detect this and
  the BUNDLE will remain in disabling state.

  ****************************************************************
  A Spring Boot application is installed using a CICS BUNDLE
  to a Liberty JVM server. The server.xml file is missing a
  configuration element required by the application.
  The CICS bundle resource goes to an enabled state even though
  the application did not start successfully in Liberty.
  When an attempt is made to disable the CICS BUNDLE it will go
  into a disabling state and remain there until the JVMSERVER is
  disabled.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS has been updated to successfully disable the BUNDLE.
