APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using the WebSphere Administrative Console to map
    application resource references for JMS Queue or
    Topic ConnectionFactories, resources of those types are not
    presented in the selectable options if the resources are for
    generic JMS providers.

Local fix

  • As noted the issue can be worked around by typing the jndi name
    of the QCF into the input text box.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Topic and Queue connection factories *
    * for generic JMS providers are not *
    * selectable when mapping resource *
    *                      references.                             *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The ResourceMapperDefaultImpl was misidentifying
    QueueConnectionFactory and TopicConnectionFactory objects in
    the configuration as unified JMS ConnectionFactories if the
    JMS Provider type was Generic. When the admin console is used
    to map resource references to configured resources, the type
    of the resource reference is used to generate a selectable
    list of configured resources that match the resource reference
    type.  For resource reference types
    javax.jms.QueueConnectionFactory and
    javax.jms.TopicConnectionFactory the configured resources were
    not added to the list for Generic JMS Providers.

Problem conclusion

  • The resource mapping was fixed to recognise the connection
    factory types for Generic JMS Providers correctly.

    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
    9.0.5.7. For more information, see 'Recommended Updates for
