• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A customer was trying to model a workload that involved running
  various tests at specific rates using a Random Selector with
  Weighted Blocks for each of the tests and then including a Rate
  Generator inside the blocks to control the iteration rate.  When
  they tried this, the tests did not run and each user reported:
  
    java.lang.NullPointerException occurred in <RateGenerator>
  
  Additional experimentation showed that even the simpliest
  schedule with a Rate Generator inside a Weighted Block would
  fail this way.  For example:
  
    User Group 1
      Random Selector (1 block)
        Weighted Block1 (1) (100%)
          Rate Generator (1 iteration): RateGen1
            SomeTest
  

Local fix

• As a workaround, use a Loop instead of a Rate Generator in the
  schedule.
