Error description

  • Description:

In the TFUI, if you have a Starting Group assigned at the
Profile level on an Actor field, the field itself will be
limited to the members of that group. However, when you create a
filter from the TFUI grid view, the Starting Group does not
filter the Actors. In the Standard UI, the Starting Group
impacts both the field and the Filtering. It seems the TFUI
should be consistent with the StandardUI behavior

    Steps to Reproduce
    1. Create a Group and add a few users to it
From the Standard UI> Administration > User Groups and Domains
    Select Workflow Reporting and Others
In the Group section, click Add New
Give the new Group a name (I called it AuditMgrs). Click Create

    2. Add some users to this group
Click on the newly created group (AuditMgrs)
In the Users section, click on the Associate button
    I added these users:
aburr (note this user is not an audit user)
    ivyaudit
    jackaudit
jadams (note this user is not an audit user)
    jimaudit
    johnaudit
    Click associate

    3. Add the Starting Group to the Profile
Administration > Profiles > Select OpenPages Modules Master
Click on the AuditProgram (Audit) object type
From the Object Fields, click on AudMgrsRevs field (Audit
    Managers and Reviewers)
In the Display Type Information section click Edit
In the Starting Group field, click the Select Group icon
Expand the Workflow, Reporting and Others
Click on the Checkmark next to the Audit Managers
    Click OK
    Click Save

    4. Standard UI: Check that the field Audit Managers and
Reviewers is limited by the Starting Group in the Detail View
    Audit Management > Audits
Click on an audit such as Accounts Receivable - 2011 to open the
    Detail view
    Click Edit
In the general section click on the Select Users and Group icon
next to the Audit Manager and Reviewers field
    In the Search, enter %
Notice that the list is limited to the users you added to the
    group
Try entering another user such as gwashington or
    OpenPagesAdministrator
Notice that these users don't appear.

    5. Back to the FLV in the StandardUI, create a filter on the
    Audit Managers and Reviewers field
    Click on Advanced Filter
Select the field Audit Managers and Reviewers
Click on the icon to select the users
Notice that the list of Users is limited to the Starting group.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 but this time using the TFUI

    6. Navigate to the TFUI
Click on Audit Management > Audits
Select the same audit as in step 4
Navigate to the General Section and click on the Audit Managers
    and Reviewers field
Notice that the field is limited to the 6 names in the Starting
Group- same behavior as the Standard UI.

    7. Create a filter in the TFUI on the Audit Managers and
    Reviewers Field
From the grid view click on the Filter icon
Click + to Add a Filter - give it a name such as AuditMgrs
    Click Add Condition
Select the field Audit Managers and Reviewers
Operation = Contains any selected user or group
In the Other Users and Groups field enter a name such as
    bobaudit or gwashington
These are users not in the Starting Group
    Click Done
    Click Save

Problem conclusion

  • When filtering in the grid, the various actor display type
attributes were not being honored for any kind of actor field
besides single user. We modified the code to work for all actor
    field display types.
