PH31219: PROPERTY TO ALLOW THE MONITORING ROLE TO DO TESTCONNECTIONS IN THE INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS CONSOLE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• By default the monitoring role in the Integration Solutions
  Console of the WebSphere Application server is not allowed to do
  TestConnections for datasources. This APAR introduce a new
  system property that can be set to allow the monitoring role to
  do the TestConnection.
  

Local fix

• Use the Configuration role instead of monitoring role

  Currently, the "Test connection" button is not displayed on the
  data source detail page for users with monitor role. The new
  system property, com.ibm.ws.console.test_connection_monitor, can
  be set to display the "Test connection" button on the data
  source
  detail page for users with monitor role.
  

Problem conclusion

• When the system property,
  com.ibm.ws.console.test_connection_monitor, is set to "true" the
  "Test connection" button will be displayed on the data source
  detail page for users with monitor role.
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
  8.5.5.19 and 9.0.5.7. For more information, see 'Recommended
