Improvements are needed for the GSSAPI/Kerberos bind
authentication support for LDAP. There are exceptions in the
administrative console LDAP panels. Some error messages need
improvements. WebSphere variables for the file path for the
krb5TicketCache, krb5Keytab, and krb5Config do not resolve to
their actual value. The krb5TicketCache does not try to refresh
even if there is renewal lifetime remaining.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Updates were made to fix exceptions found in the LDAP panels of
the administrative console and improve error messages related to
the GSSAPI/Kerberos bind authentication support for LDAP. The
functionality was also enhanced to allow krb5TicketCache renewal
and WebSphere variables are resolved for the file name paths.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
8.5.5.20 and 9.0.5.7. For more information, see 'Recommended
