Error description

  • When the default value for a column is SESSION_USER, Object
    Compare does the comparison based on the actual SESSION_USER
    at the time the table was created. This is what is stored in
    the SYSCOLUMNS.DEFAULTVALUE column. This is not an issue for
    tables created by the same user, but can otherwise result in
    an unnecessary reported change, such as the drop/create of a
    view. This is especially true if either source or target is DDL,
    since there is no user at the time of the extract.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Object Compare reports an unnecessary *
    * change on a column with default value *
    *                      SESSION_USER.                           *
    *                                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When a table column has the default SESSION_USER, the value
    stored in SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMNS DEFAULTVALUE might differ,
    depending on whether the column was
    defined with a CREATE TABLE or ALTER TABLE ADD COLUMN statement.
    Because of this variation, Compare might report a change to
    the default value.
    In this case, no action is performed on the table, but
    views on the table are dropped and recreated unnecessarily.

    The same issue is possible if the column default is
    CURRENT SQLID.

  • The problem has been resolved.
