PH30562: DSNU1145I ON LOAD UTILITY WHEN UTIL_OBJECT_CONVERSION=NOBASIC AND TABLESPACE HAS CLONE TABLE 21/07/29 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• UTILITY_OBJECT_CONVERSION dsnzparm set to NOBASIC. Load
  failed with DSNU1145I. User tried to run the Load utility
  with RBALRSN_CONVERSION EXTENDED parm and got
  DSNU1459I -DPL3 277 22:27:19.32 DSNURWI - KEYWORD OR OPERAND
  RBALRSN_CONVERSION INVALID WITH AN OBJECT INVOLVED IN CLONING
  dbname.tsname FOR THE LOAD UTILITY.
  
  In other cases, if user applies apar PH26317,
  OBJECT_CREATE_FORMAT and
  UTILITY_OBJECT_CONVERSION dsnzparm keywords are removed.
  You then can get:
  DSNU1145I -DTA 262 06:03:59.44 DSNURWI - THE OBJECT CONVERSION
  TO BASIC PAGE FORMAT IS NOT ALLOWED.  (rc8)
  
  Additional scenario:
  After applying PH26317/UI70750, users have observed the
  following error in some scenarios with REORG for XML tablespace
  in BASIC format:

  To bypass:
  Run a REORG TABLESPACE SHRLEVEL REFERENCE or CHANGE on the
  entire XML table space to convert it to extended page format.

  This APAR PH30562/UI73333 is not related to XML, only related to
  CLONE relationships. However,  PH30562 is the fixing APAR for
  PH26317/UI70750 which is marked PE.

  the base table to extended 10-byte format, and then re-create

  User ran a LOAD REPLACE against a table, which resided in a
  table space in basic page format and with a clone relationship.
  The utility failed during initialization with RC8 and
  MSGDSNU1145I - THE OBJECT CONVERSION TO BASIC PAGE FORMAT IS
  NOT ALLOWED.  Due to this error, user was left with no other
  alternative to execute the utility without first dropping the
  clone relationship from the target objects.
  The reported problem is caused by the nature of objects in a
  clone relationship where meta data changes such as page format
  is not allowed, coupled with the deprecation of the
  UTILITY_OBJECT_CONVERSION subsystem parameter resulting in the
  enforcement of extended page format being used.  In this
  scenario, the utility should be allowed to execute by keeping
  the target objects in basic page format without failing with
  RC8.  A similar problem can happen on LOAD REPLACE, REORG, and
  REBUILD INDEX on a table space or partition or index involved
  in a clone relationship.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code has been modified to allow LOAD REPLACE, REORG, and
  REBUILD INDEX utility execution on a clone object in basic
  page format without failing with RC8 and DSNU1145I.
