Error description

  • This APAR fixes the following problems:
    - The IMS Buffer Pool Analyzer does not report subpool IDs
directed to HALDB partitions in DBDRPT and DSNRPT.
    - The DBD keyword description in the CHANGE DBD statement in the
IMS Buffer Pool Analyzer for z/OS User's Guide is incorrect
for HALDB. For HALDB, specify the partition name and partition
      dataset number (typically A through J, L, and X).
    - When a dataset number (DSID) is specified with the DBD keyword
in the CHANGE DBD statement and AM=VSAM is specified along
with CI resizing, the specified CI size is not used for
      modeling in MDLRPT.

    ****************************************************************
This APAR fixes the following problems:
    - In DBDRPT and DSNRPT, the IMS Buffer Pool Analyzer does not
report subpool IDs directed to HALDB partitions which are
defined by DBD control statement in IMS subpool definition
      (DFSVSMxx or DFSVSAMP DD statement).
    - The DBD keyword description in the CHANGE DBD statement in the
IMS Buffer Pool Analyzer for z/OS User's Guide is incorrect
for HALDB. For HALDB, specify the partition name and partition
data set number (typically A through J, L, and X).
    - When a dataset number (DSID) for the DBD keyword and AM=VSAM
is specified in the CHANGE DBD statement along with CI
resizing, the specified CI size is not used for modeling in
      MDLRPT.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR fixes problems as follows:
    - The IMS Buffer Pool Analyzer enables to report subpool IDs
directed to HALDB partitions in DBDRPT and DSNRPT.
    - The DBD keyword description in the CHANGE DBD statement in the
IMS Buffer Pool Analyzer for z/OS User's Guide is corected so
that the partition name and partition data set number
(typically A through J, L, and X) have to be specified in the
      case of HALDB.
    - The IMS Buffer Pool Analyzer enables to use the specified CI
size for modeling in MDLRPT if a dataset number (DSID) for the
DBD keyword and AM=VSAM are specified in the CHANGE DBD
      statement.

Topic: IMS buffer pool reports > Customizing the buffer pool
reports using SYSIN statements > CHANGE DBD statements > DBD
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
The description of DBD keyword for the CHANGE DBD statement has
    been changed as follows:
    DBD
This keyword specifies the database name and, optionally, the
data set number. For HALDB, specify the partition name and,
optionally, the partition data set number (typically A through
    J, L, and X).
For example, DBD=DI21PART will cause all data sets that are
associated with the DI21PART database to be changed.
Specifying DBD=(DI21PART,1) will cause only the first data set
    to be changed.

The description of DCB NUM field has been changed as follows:
    DCB NUM
The DCB number indicates the data set number within the database
or the HALDB partition for this data set.
