Customer is performing CONVERT and INSERT processing of an EXTRACT file containing a number of Legacy Tables defined over IBM segments. The processes are failing with ABEND S001, ABEND001, IEC020I 001-1,job,STEP,PSDFEXTR,... CEE3250C The system or user abend S001 R=00000001 was issued. From compile unit IBDCB at entry point IBDCB at compile unit offset -2930BEEE at entry offset -2930D56E at address 00D3D222.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Optim users working with IMS data. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Optim may abend S001 while processing * * EXTRACT files with large amount of IMS * * data. * **************************************************************** A flaw in record position computation logic, specific to processing of IMS data, causes IO access to a location outside of the boundaries of the EXTRACT file being processed.
Problem conclusion
Optim processing logic will be corrected.
