Error description

  • The field DFHLPMDS (offset of module start) was changed in 5.6
    from a 2 byte to a 4 byte field and its location moved in the
    plist. This plist is referenced by a several different DSECTs
    and the one used by message domain to obtain the RIDS and PTFS
    value was not updated, resulting in invalid values. Example
    incorrect message below, note the RIDS and PTFS;

    +DFHME0116 XXXXXX 259
    (Module:DFHMEME) CICS symptom string for message DFHIR3788 is
    PIDS/5655Y0400 LVLS/730 MS/DFHIR3788 RIDS/ q PTFS/

    Whereas in 5.5 these fields are valued properly, as in this
    example;

    DFHME0116 XXXXXX 145
    (Module:DFHMEME) CICS symptom string for message DFHIR3788 is
    PIDS/5655Y0400 LVLS/720 MS/DFHIR3788 RIDS/DFHCRNP PTFS/UI68560

    Additional symptoms:

    KIXREVSCB
    DFHME0116 incorrect module name

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: RIDS and PTFS in symptom string are *
    * incorrect and do not contain the *
    *                      failing module.                         *
    ****************************************************************
    Due to a mismatch of CICS structures between DFHLFM and
    DFHKEMHD the calculation of the symptom string for CICS
    messages is incorrect and produces unexpected output.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHKEMHD has been corrected to match DFHLFM structure.
