PH28211: MORE SORTS THAN MAXSORT UNDULY RUN IN PARALLEL CAN LEAD TO MEMORY SHORTAGE

Error description

• Db2 HPU runs simultaneously more sort processes than the value
  applicable for MAXSORT (specified either through the MAXSORT
  option or the VUX005/MAXSORT parmlib parameter). Db2 HPU ignores
  MAXSORT and may run as many sorts as the partition parallelism
  allowed (specified either via the first argument of the
  PARALLELISM option or the VUX025/PARALLEL parmlib parameter) for
  the unload which can lead to memory shortage.
  This occurs when a sort is triggered via SORTIN (due to a
  temporary lack of memory below the 16 MB line or because the
  number of active sorts has reached the value specified by
  MAXSORT) as reported by messages such as the following ones:
  INZX111 T00nIN ppp K / sss K REQUESTED ON p WORK
  INZX063 S10000000n SORT ACTIVATED VIA SORTIN
  

Local fix

• decrease the partition/LDS parallelism allowed for the unload by
  specifying PARALLELISM(n,,) where n is the value applicable for
  MAXSORT.
