• When a user takes "[Scenario 2: Options data set accessed as an

  the following steps result in ETOS initialization failure,
  
   * Brought up an IMS for update (IFA1) with DBIZT1 ACCESS=UP
   * /DIS DB DBIZT1 showed ACCESS=UP and NOT OPEN status
   * Ran IZTRAN to open the database
   * /DIS DB DBIZT1 showed ACCESS=UP and ALLOCS status
   * Brought up an read-only IMS (IFA2) with DBIZT1 ACCESS=RO
   * ETO was deactivated because it could not get read access to
  DBIZT1

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR fixes the following bug.      *

  *                      during IMS restart when all of the      *
  *                      following conditions are met;           *
  *                      1. ETO Support options dataset (DBIZT1) *
  *                         is configured with                   *
  *                         VSAM SHAREOPTIONS(2,3)               *
  *                      2. DBIZT1 has already been allocated    *
  *                         by another IMS                       *
  *                      Then IMS brings up without ETO Support. *
  *                                                              *
  *                      Note that the ETO Support user's guide  *
  *                      introduces VSAM SHAREOPTIONS(2,3) on    *
  *                      the section "Sharing the options        *
  *                      dataset/ Scenario 2: Options data set   *
  *                      accessed as an IMS database (single     *
  *                      system updates)".  It is used to        *
  *                      configure DBIZT1 as that only one       *
  *                      IMS can update it.                      *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *

  By applying this APAR, the user can bring up IMS without ETO
  Support initialization error even when;
  1. ETO Support options dataset (DBIZT1) is configured with
     VSAM SHAREOPTIONS(2,3)
  2. DBIZT1 has already been allocated by another IMS
