APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The following warning message may be issued correctly if
dynacache service is disabled. With dynacache service enabled,
the message is no longer issued in the controller and
the servant region, but is still issued in the adjunct region:

CWXRS0003W: Failed to obtain a DistributedMap instance:
Name="com.ibm.workplace/ExtensionRegistryCache", Size=5000

The message does not cause any issues and can be ignored.

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED:  All Z/OS users of IBM WebSphere Application *
*                  Server V9.0 using the administrative        *
*                  console.                                    *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An extraneous error message is          *
*                      written to the log when starting the    *
*                      administrative console.                 *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
There is no dynacache service in a servant, so the error
message that it can't be started is not necessary.

Problem conclusion

  • No longer print the dynacache error in the servant log when
starting the administrative console
