Error description
In IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz), v14.2.2, editing a JCL containing comments with special characters &, %, or ? with the JCL editor, results in syntax warnings displayed for each expression containing these special characters. Here is an example for a JCL statement containing comments: //JOBLIB DD DISP=SHR,DSN=TEST.TEST1.LOAD <== expr1& expr2% expr3? The JCL editor will display the following for the expressions in the comment: Multiple markers at this line: - "expr3?" is invalid - "exp1&" is invalid - "expr2%" is invalid
Local fix
The JCL can be edited with the zSystems LPEX editor. If no editing is required, the syntax warnings can be ignored and the JCL can be submitted as is.
Problem summary
Symbolic signs in the trailing comments trip off the JCL editor lexer error
Problem conclusion
Handled the case when the symbolic signs (%,& and ?) show up in the trailing comments field to treat it as a valid case
Temporary fix
