APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A CICS TS 5.5 region is started with FEPI=YES, subsequently a
"CEMT I FETA" (yes FETA) command is issued which forces a bunch
of dumps to be taken with the following messages:

DFHXS0002 A severe error (code X'070D') has occurred in module
    DFHXSRC.

The investigation showed that DFHEIQSZ should only call
DFHXSRC at the start of a browse of the FEPI resources but
it is happening for every resource in the browse.

XSRC_ACCESS is not being initialised correctly after the
call at the start of the browse and this is leading to the
    severe errors in DFHXSRC.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: It is possible to receive the following *
    * abend when issuing CEMT INQUIRE FETA; *
    *                      DFHXS0002 A severe error (code X'070D') *
    * has occurred in module DFHXSRC. *
    ****************************************************************
When using CEMT I FETA or issuing an
EXEC CICS FEPI INQUIRE TARGET START to review any FEPI Targets
it is possible to receive a DFHXS0002 A severe error
(code X'070D') has occurred in module DFHXSRC.
This may happen because DFHEIQSZ is incorrectly issuing security
calls for each read next and end browse.

    Keyword: tid_xsrc_invalid_access

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEIQSZ has been changed to avoid making security calls for
both the read next and end browse when inquiring on FEPI
    Targets.
