PH27203: MESSAGE CHC1528E IS ISSUED FOR A ROLLEDBACK UR THAT WAS MARKED "IN DOUBT" AFTER DB2 WAS RESTARTED 20/10/28 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If DB2 is brought down forcefully or fails, and is then
  restarted, some URs that were not yet completed may be marked
  "in doubt".  If such a UR is subsequently processed with the DB2
   -RECOVER INDOUBT command, and is ROLLedBACK, it is possible
  that a UR Control record sequencing error will be raised by IIDR
   CDC for z/OS, issuing message CHC1528E and ending the
  subscription.

  The current approach to resolving in-doubt URs is insufficient
  and can lead to desynchronization of source and target tables.
  

Problem conclusion

• In-doubt URs will be held in the Staging Space until a logged
  resolution (COMMIT or ABORT) is encountered and used to dispose
  of the UR.
