Error description

• This APAR includes improvements relating to the insert of
  partitions in the following areas:
  
  1) ALTER:  The insert partition operation is now available when
  using ALTER (ALT) table space.
  
  2) COMPARE: The issues below are resolved:
  
  (a) Object Compare may fail with the following error:
  
  ADB7383E ADB2CMT A severe error occurred when processing the
  specified limit key for table tbschema.tbname. Input_limitkey is
  blank.
  
  (b)  An analyze with recover may fail with the following
  parser error:
  
  ADB2PA: The following statement could not be parsed :
  PARTITION 1
  ALTER INDEX ixschema.ixname
  FREEPAGE 10;
  ALTER INDEX ixschema.ixname
  PARTITION 2

  The following enhancements provide improvements
  for inserting partitions:
  
  1. Alter:
  
  The insert partition operation is now available when using ALTER
  (ALT) table space. (The previous APAR added this
  capability to ALT table only). When a user enters the ALT
  line command on a PBR table space, incrementing NUMPARTS or
  issuing the VALUES primary command on panel ADB21SAR
  'Redefine Table Space' allows them to insert a partition
  (by using the INS line command) and update limit key values on
  panel ADB21TAV 'Alter Partitioned Table'. Db2 Admin Tool
  generates DROP and CREATE table space statements with updated
  partitions (NUMPARTS) and an
  ALTER TABLE .. ADD PARTITION ENDING AT .. statement.
  The RESET primary command on panels ADB27CPV and
  ADB21TAV 'Alter Partitioned Table' is changed to ORIGINAL,
  so that it is consistent with other, similar operations
  in the product.
  An insert partition operation is disabled for a PBR table
  with a LOB column as follows:
  Panel ADB21TA 'Alter Table' displays
  "ADD/ALTER PARTITION" instead of "ADD/INSERT/ALTER
  PARTITION".
  The INS line command cannot be issued on panel
  ADB21TAV.
  2. Compare:
  
  When the source has more partitions than the target,
  and the user
  specified a PARTITIONING generic ignore, compare fails with
  the following error:
  ADB7383E ADB2CMT A severe error occurred when processing
  the specified limit key for
  table tbschema.tbname. Input_limitkey is blank.
  Object compare is fixed to consider the PARTITIONING generic
  ignore before adding or inserting partitions.
  When the source has more partitions than the target and index
  partitions attributes are changed, analyze with recover fails
  with the following parser error.
  ADB2PA: The following statement could not be parsed :
  PARTITION 1
  ALTER INDEX ixschema.ixname
  FREEPAGE 10;
  ALTER INDEX ixschema.ixname
  PARTITION 2
  FREEPAGE 10;
  
  This error is caused by a missing ALTER INDEX statement
  before the ALTER PARTITION 1 clause generated in the
  recover path. Compare has been fixed to
  generate the missing ALTER INDEX statement.
