PH26935: PARTIAL IMAGE COPY UNDULY READ ONCE PER PARTITION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• (HPU 5.1 only) Db2 HPU unduly reads the image copy of a single
  partition of a table space several times (one time per partition
   of the tablespace) as indicated by several (one per partition)
  messages as follows:
  INZX081 FRDBA999 IMAGE COPY IS BEING READ FROM DDNAME ICIN01
  
  This leads to low performance (the more the number of partition,
  the lower the performance).
  
  This issue occurs when the following conditions are fulfilled :
  - the unload involves a partitioned table space
  - the input image copy is the image copy of a single partition
  - the image copy is allocated through a DD statement
  - the ddname used to allocate the image copy has a numeric
  suffix
  

Local fix

• If applicable, use an alphabetical ddname to allocate the image
  copy.
