    ****************************************************************
In CICS TS 5.6 the CICSPlex SM BAS Component was updated with
the capability to use all available BAS data space storage
by spreading large resource deployment lists for BAS across
multiple data spaces, instead of being constrained to a
single data space. This capability was enabled by default in
CICS TS 5.6, but with the application of this APAR
the default will be changed to disabled. The feature
can be disabled or enabled manually by setting feature toggle
    com.ibm.cics.cpsm.bas.largecicsplex in a CMAS region
    to either false or true.
    .
With this CICSPlex SM BAS component capability active in a
CICSPlex SM CMAS region, errors processing the structures used
to manage the BAS resource deployment internal Cache List may
lead to corruption of the Cache List contents leading to
irregular behaviour by the CICSPlex SM BAS component.

Problem conclusion

  • The CICSPlex SM BAS component has been updated to interact
with the CHE component Cache List structures with reduced
overhead, including reduced method call overhead and usage
of direct Cache List data space storage access CHE component
    interfaces.
    .
The CICSPlex SM CHE component has been updated to provide
support for multiple Cache List operations under a single
method call as well as a safe direct access interface for
Cache List storage access by a different CICSPlex SM
component. Additionally updates were also made to correct
erroneous updates to the Cache List structures themselves.
