Error description
This APAR addresses two issues where generate_recover_change = 'Y' is specified: 1) The run job of a change which includes generate_recover_change='Y' and admin_dataset_type = 'IFF' may fail with the following error: ADBC139E INTFIN and C001 mismatch. Colnames not Equal 2) When the following conditions are true: a) generate_recover_change = 'Y' b) chgtag_type ='NAME' c) a change_name value of less than 8 characters is specified The analyze job may end with RC=12, and the following error messages: INVALID DATA SET NAME, '>data set qualifiers<.R INVALID DATA SET NAME, .IFF' MISSING DATA SET NAME OR *+ MISSING NAME OF DATA SET TO BE ALLOCATED KEYWORDS; msgadbc139e

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the Db2 Administration * * Tool for z/OS CM batch interface. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Issue 1: * * A compare job fails with a message * * about a mismatch ("colnames not equal") * * during the ADB27AC conversion routine. * * * * Issue 2: * * RC=12 is returned because of an * * invalid data set name when running a * * change with chgtag_type = 'NAME' * * with a change_name value of less than * * 8 characters. * **************************************************************** These errors occur when using the Change Management (CM) batch interface with compare, analyze, and run. Each of the following issues is a separate error, both of which are resolved by this APAR. Issue 1: The run job fails with message ADBC139E INTFIN and C001 mismatch: Colnames not Equal The problem occurs during the load phase of an ALTER TABLE process. (The unload phase was successful.) This error is triggered only when the following CM batch parameter settings are specified: generate_recover_change='Y' admin_dataset_type = 'IFF'. Issue 2: When running a change with chgtag_type ='NAME' with generate_recover_change = 'Y' and with a change_name value of less than 8 characters, RC=12 is issued due to an invalid data set name. Additionally, documentation is missing from the User's Guide for the IFF_RE and IFF_RO CM batch parameter options. Using these options can help avoid issue #1. The following text is added to the CM batch parameter definition of ADMIN_DATASET_TYPE: CHG The CHG data set. Recommendation: When generating a recover change, use CHG_RO or CHG_RE. Specifying CHG when generating a recover change affects the CHG data set for only the change itself; it does not affect the CHG data set for the recover change. If CHG_RO or CHG_RE is not specified, the default recover change CHG data set is created. CHG_RO The CHG data set for a recover to original data change. A recover to original data change is specified by the following two options: GENERATE_RECOVER_CHANGE = 'Y' DATA_TO_RECOVER = 'O' or DATA_TO_RECOVER = 'B' CHG_RE The CHG data set for a recover to existing data change. A recover to existing data change is specified by the following two options: GENERATE_RECOVER_CHANGE = 'Y' DATA_TO_RECOVER = 'E' or DATA_TO_RECOVER = 'B' IFF The IFF PDS Db2 Admin Tool data set. Recommendation: When generating a recover change, use IFF_RO or IFF_RE. Specifying IFF when generating a recover change affects the IFF data set for only the change itself; it does not affect the IFF data set for the recover change. If IFF_RO or IFF_RE is not specified, the default recover change IFF data set is created. IFF_RO The IFF PDS Db2 Admin Tool data set for a recover to original data change. A recover to original data change is specified by the following two options: GENERATE_RECOVER_CHANGE = 'Y' DATA_TO_RECOVER = 'O' or DATA_TO_RECOVER = 'B' IFF_RE The IFF PDS Db2 Admin Tool data set for a recover to existing data change. A recover to existing data change is specified by the following two options: GENERATE_RECOVER_CHANGE = 'Y' DATA_TO_RECOVER = 'E' or DATA_TO_RECOVER = 'B'
