  z/OSMF Software Management has been enhanced to allow a workflow
  instance to be created when the Software Instance resides on a
  remote z/OSMF host system.
  

Problem conclusion

• z/OSMF Software Management in V2.3 and V2.4 has been updated as
  
  follows:
  
  
  
  - Support creating a workflow instance when the Software
  
  Instance containing the workflow definition file resides on a
  
  remote z/OSMF host system.
  
  
  
  - Add, Read, List and Delete Portable Software Instances using
  
  new z/OSMF Software Management REST APIs.
  
  
  
  - For Deployment and Export jobs, remove the BYPASSACS, IMPORT
  
  and TOLERATE(ENQFAILURE) operands on the COPY, DUMP and RESTORE
  
  commands for DFSMSdss program ADRDSSU job steps.
  
  
  
  - For Deployment and Export jobs, instead of using /tmp for
  
  temporary UNIX directory space, create and mount a temporary zFS
  
  data set.  Allow the user to provide the data set name prefix
  
  and volume or storage class for the zFS data set.
  
  
  
  - Ensure Deployment and Export jobs properly support very long
  
  UNIX paths and UNIX paths that contain blank characters.
  
  
  
  - Accommodate dynamic z/OSMF server configuration changes using
  
  the MVS SET command.
