Error description
Flexibility needed in setting $WSSN used in place of Host: header
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server WebServer Plug-in * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Need an option to specify the $WSSN * * private header without modifying the * * Host header. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** $WSSN is normally set from the original Host header. Modifications to the Host header indirectly modify $WSSN, but may have other side effects. $WSSN is used in the application server similar to the standard Host: or non-standard X-Forwarded-Host headers.
Problem conclusion
If per-request Apache environment variable "ws-override-host" is set, the value will be used instead of the Host: header to populate $WSSN. The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.18 and 9.0.5.6.
