APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) OracleAQ Adapter fails to
enqueue a message on OracleAQ, where the defined message
structure has a BLOB/CLOB column.  If the data being inserted
exceeds 2Gb, then the map may either fail or complete, but the
inserted data is missing or truncated (depending on platform).

On Windows, a map failure is mont likely to occur, and
the error inthe database trace file (.DBL) is:

<9204-5104-05/15/20 21:17:00>:    Too much data (nn bytes) for
column XXXXXXXXX
<9204-5104-05/15/20 21:17:00>:    Failed after 1 rows inserted.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
IBM Transformation Extender users who are using Oracle adapter
and dealing with LOB type of data

Problem Description:
Unable to insert more than 2Gb into a BLOB column on Oracle.

Platforms Affected:
All

Problem conclusion

  • Corrected the MaxSize for BLOB/CLOB datatype for the Oracle
adapter.

Applies to:
9.0.0.4, 10.0.0.0, 10.0.4.0

Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
