Error description

  • We are experiencing performance issues while trying to list
    applications from WAS under Applications > Application
    Types > Websphere enterprise applications. The list of 25
    applications takes a couple of seconds to load but when we try
    to raise the number of rows per page (from the 'Maximum rows'
    filter) to about a hundred or more these take quite some time
    to load. Is there anything that could be done to decrese the
    time needed to list applications on that screen? (The other
    screen for listing applications under Applications > All
    applications works great with any number of rows per page)

    *                  collection                                  *
    *                  tables.                                     *
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If a customer has numerous              *
    *                      applications,                           *
    *                      servers, or nodes the collection pages  *
    *                      related to those may take a while to    *
    *                      load.                                   *
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    Certain pages in the administrative console have collection
    tables containing resources(applications, servers, nodes, etc.)
    where the status servlet is called twice. The second call was
    inadvertently added to address another issue, but is causing a
    delay in loading the elements in the collection tables. Often
    times the collection view will be blank for a few seconds before
    it starts to slowly load all the resources and their statuses.

Problem conclusion

  • The second call to the status servlet was removed to prevent the
    delay in loading the affected collection tables.
