PH26107: COMPILER FREES DCB STORAGE OF OPEN SYSIN AND SYSPRINT WHEN SYSMDECK DD MISSING

Error description

• Compiler frees DCB storage of open SYSIN and SYSPRINT when
  SYSMDECK DD missing leading to SC03 abend
  

Local fix

• Ignore SC03 abend and look for IGYSI5013-U  An error occurred
  while attempting to open file "SYSMDECK".  Add SYSMDECK DD to
  avoid abend.
  

Problem summary

  *                 of the required data definition (DD) names   *
  *                 for either SYSIN, SYSPRINT or SYSMDECK.      *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Improper compiler termination after an  *
  *                      unrecoverable error situation.          *
  *                                                              *
  *                      An expected error message such as:      *
  *                                                              *
  *                      +IGYSI5013-U An error occurred while    *
  *                      attempting to open                      *
  *                      + file "SYSMDECK".                      *
  *                                                              *
  *                      is issued but is unexpectedly followed  *
  *                      by a SC03 ABEND and possibly also a     *
  *                      S0C4 in I/O-SRB processing.             *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  The ABENDs occurred in the compiler abnormal termination
  processing code because the storage for open DCBs associated
  with either the SYSIN, SYSPRINT, or SYSMDECK data sets was
  freed, but the files were left in an OPEN state after compiler
  termination. When the system went through address space
  termination and cleanup, it tried to close these open data sets
  by accessing the DCBs for which the storage was already freed
  by the compiler.
  

Problem conclusion

• The abnormal termination code in the compiler has
  been updated so that it closes any open data sets before it
  frees the storage associated with the DCBs for these open data
  sets.
