APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If user only has access to Task Focused UI,  then clicking on a
    version number in a Files Task View containing a version
    component will navigate the user back to the Home Page instead
    of opening the file.
    
    Allowing the user access to the Standard UI via Role Assignment
    Application Permissions will allow the user to open the
    versioned file.
    
    
    Workaround:
    None
    
    
    Prerequisites:
    1.	OP 8.1.01 with standard test data
    
    2.	Create a new Task View for File containing version component
    a)	Log into the OpenPages Application as OpenPagesAdministrator
    b)	On top menu, click the gear icon and select Manage Views
    c)	Click Add New
    d)	Check ?Use as default view for this object type for all
    profiles?
    e)	Select File for the Object Type and enter PJH-File-Task for
    the name and click Add
    f)	In the View Designer,  click Add Section and enter Detail for
    the Label and click Done
    g)	Drag these object fields into the section fields: Name,
    Description, Last Modified By, Last Modification Date, Folder
    h)	Under General, drag the Versions into the Sections Field and
    click Publish
    
    
    
    
    
    
          3.  Create a new user with access to TFUI only
    a)	Log into the OpenPages Application as OpenPagesAdministrator
    and switch to Standard UI
    b)	On top menu, click Administration > Users and click Create a
    User
    c)	Fill in all required fields and select OpenPages Modules
    Master for Allowed Profiles, and click Finish
    d)	On top menu click Administration > User Groups and Domains
    e)	Click on Workflow,Reporting and Others
    f)	Navigate down to Permissions and click Edit button
    g)	Uncheck ?Standard? under User Interfaces and click Save
    
    
    4.	Add a new File under an existing entity and create a new
    version
    a)	On top right of page, click Add New and select File
    b)	Search and select an existing entity for Primary Parent and
    click Next
    c)	Fill in any required fields and under Select File, choose any
    .xlsx or .docx file and click Save
    d)	Update the .xlsx or .docx file using the appropriate editor.
    e)	On top menu, click My OpenPages > Files
    f)	Click on the File that was added and click Actions > Check
    Out this File
    g)	Click Actions > Edit/Upload this File
    h)	Under Upload File, browse and select the modified .xlsx or
    .docx file and click Save
    i)	Click Actions > Check in File, then click Check in button
    
    
    Steps to Reproduce:
    
    1.	Log into the OpenPages Application as user created in step 3
    in PreReq.
    2.	On Primary menu, select Attachments > Files and click on the
    file that was added
    3.	Click on Version Number 2 and confirm that you are
    incorrectly brought back to the Home Page
    
    
    
    
    
    Expected Results:
    
    Expected a prompt to open the file using the appropriate editor.
    This prompt will occur when Standard UI permission is added back
    to the Role Template.

    Actual Results:
    
    User is brought back to Home Page and is unable to open the
    versioned file.

Problem conclusion

  • We have fixed this so now a user can open a versioned file in
    the Task UI if they do not have access to the Standard UI.
    
    Customers should download OpenPages with Watson 8.2 Fix Pack 1
    (8.2.0.1). See the following document for details on obtaining
    OpenPages 8.2.0.1:
