Error description

  • During insert workload using Insert Algorithm 2(IAG2), ABEND04E
RC00C90105 at DSNIASFP:0CA4 takes place as well as below
messages for the header page of a PBG's (MEMBER CLUSTER&APPEND
    YES) 2nd partition:
    .

    .
DSN1PRNT shows the header page is fine. While DSNIASFP:0CA4 is
where Db2 fails a sanity check for SPACE MAP(SMAP) page. Db2
incorrectly assume the header page is a SMAP page here.

Local fix

  • BYPASS/CIRCUMVENTION:
    Disable the IAG2 function.

    ****************************************************************
When running insert workloads with Insert Algorithm 2(IAG2),
it reached the end of the current partition and there was
no more page to be added to the IAG2 page pipes. But this
"partition full" information was ignored and a space map
page was calculated with the number outside the current
partition's boundary limit. This caused an abend in
    DNIASFP:0CA4.

Problem conclusion

  • Db2 code is modified to avoid calculating the wrong
space map page number when the partition is full.
