Error description
After application of PH16297, the Kernel dump formatter no longer formats the Kernel error table entries (KERRD) if the failure occurs in a different ASID. (Primary address space is not the home address space). For instance, after PH16297, the KERRD for an abend 999 (purge of a task with control in DB2) will look like this: =KE: Error Number: 00000115 ** Current ASID is not the CICS address space Primary address space ASID is: X'0180' Home address space ASID is: X'0028' ** No further information for this Kernel Error Number The Kernel Error Table summary can include lines like this: No information for this Kernel Error Number as Current ASID is not the CICS address space DFHKEDUF will not format the error, or any details about it in any KE=1,2,3. It is still possible to find the Kernel error table in browse mode, and find the error information, e.g. the entry entry will show '---/0999 DFHD2D2' with its error information, but it is time consuming. The KERRDs should be formatted as they were before PH16297 as they provided useful information. In addition, it would be very beneficial to have the task# in the Kernel Error Table Summary as it is sometimes hard to determine when errors are for the same task or a different task. (The task# is already provided in the individual KERRDs). Sometimes lots of tasks are failing simultaneously and it would make it a lot easier to decipher which errors are for the same task#. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS IPCS kernel VERBEXIT suppresses * * some information if PASID does not * * equal HASID. * **************************************************************** A CICS SDUMP is being analyzed with IPCS. The CICS kernel verbexit is being used to display kernel error data. If a kernel error record represents a problem which occurred while CICS (in the Home Address space, or HASID) is executing code in another address space (the Primary address space, or PASID) then the verbexit either displays misleading information or displays "No further information for this Kernel Error Number" and suppresses all further information for the error data. Additional Keywords: DFHPD720 DFHPD730 KE
Problem conclusion
DFHKEDUF has been modified to correct the misleading information. In addition, several other modifications have been made to improve the information which the KE verbexit formats.
