APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Db2 HPU enters an infinite loop when a logical unload, run in
native mode, specifies a WHERE clause involving a LIKE predicate
with an ESCAPE escape-expression option and which
pattern-expression does not comply with the following
    requirement:
If escape-expression is specified, pattern-expression must not
contain the escape character that is identified by
escape-expression, except when immediately followed by the
escape character, '%', or '_'. For example, if '+' is the escape
character, any occurrences of '+' other than '++', '+_', or '+%'
in the pattern is an error.

Local fix

  • Run the unload in SQL mode by specifying the DB2 FORCE option.
