PH24998: DFHMAPT CREATES MAPASET RMODE24 BELOW THE LINE STORAGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• CICS supplied procedure SDFHPROC(DFHMAPS) as supplied will
  linkedit a BMS Map with AMODE=31,RMODE=ANY. But
  SDFHPROC(DFHMAPT) will create a mapset with RMODE=24. AMODE is
  not specified so defaults to 24. This means that maps created
  with DFHMAPS will be loaded by CICS into 31 bit storage but
  those generated by DFHMAPT will go into 24 bit.

  DFHMAPT and DFHMAPS have inconsistent default RMODE settings.
  DFHMAPT produces RMODE=24 MAPLIB modules by default. This is not
  consistent with DFHMAPS and not in keeping with attempts to
  relieve the demands on storage below 16Mb.
  

Problem conclusion

• The default RMODE=24 is changed to RMODE=ANY.
  DFHMAPT now produces MAPLIB modules by default that may be
  loaded above 16Mb
  The default can still be overridden to force RMODE=24.
