PH24749: ODFPROCESSDIST FAILS DUE TO A '#' IN THE PATHNAME FOR ARSODF_TMP

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When processing distributions, if ODFProcessDist is invoked, it
  will fail if the pathname for ARSODF_TMP contains a '#'. For
  example:
  
  ARSODF_TMP = /ars/tmp#DEV/
  
  The ODF output will
  show:
  
  ARS4703E Unable to run command
  >/usr/lpp/java/current/bin/java<. The error number is 0
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  *                      an hfs pathname that contains a #, the  *
  *                      processing fails with: ARS4703E Unable  *

  *                      >/usr/lpp/java/current/bin/java<.       *
  *                      The error number is 0.                  *
  ****************************************************************
  The ODFProcessDist.java program is trying to issue a JAXB
  unmarshal command on the manifest file in the tmp directory.
  JAXB does not like the # in the pathname.
  

Problem conclusion

• The ODFProcessDist.java program is modified to read the input
  file to an InputStream and issue the JAXB unmarshal command on
  the input stream.
