APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Migration jobs reported success when migrating from v8.5.5.14 to
v9.0.0.11, but at runtime there was a loss of functionality.
Reviewing the security.xml file from before and after the
migration revealed that some dynamic outbound endpoint SSL
configurations had not been carried forward to the new v9
configuration.

Loss of functionality due to missing Dynamic outboud SSL
endpoints.

Problem conclusion

  • Migration was keying on the name field of the Dynamic outbound
SSL endpoint definition to determine whether it was unique.
However, the name field was was not unique across definitions
causing the migration tooling to collapsed the commonly named
definitions into one.  The migration tooling has been adjusted
to look at the security ManagementScope and the
DynamicSelectionInfo fields to determine whether a Dynamic
outbound SSL endpoint definition is unique.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
9.0.5.4 and 8.5.5.18. For more information, see 'Recommended
