    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message BBOA7101E is followed by many *
    *                      zeroes.                                 *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When a call to otma_alloc fails, error message BBOA7101E is
    built into a buffer and returned with a length that is the
    length of the buffer not the length of the actual message.
    The buffer is longer than the message.
    So that code that might process the message does not need
    to handle all the zeros following the message, the length
    returned should be the length of the message not the length of
    the buffer.
    The buffer returned looks like this:
    +----------------------------------------------------------
    |OSet| Address = 0eb19c68  Length = 0100 |     EBCDIC     |
    +----+-----------------------------------+----------------+

Problem conclusion

  • Changed the code to return the length of the message instead of
    the length of the buffer. Messages changed are BBOA7101E
    BBOA7103E BBOA7104E BBOA7105E and BBOA7106E.
