PH23964: Hanging situation or parallelism unduly disabled when GBLPARAL = YES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• (HPU 5.1 only) One of the following issue can occur when
  GBLPARAL = YES applies:
  - case 1 - PB52851) the unload hangs
  - case 2 - PB62768) the partition paralellism requested through
  VUX025/PARALLEL is unduly disabled
  
  These issues occur only if the additional conditions indicated
  below are fullfiled.
  - case 1)
     - SUBTKSOF = YES apply
     - an UNLOAD statement contains several SELECT statements
  against the same table from a partitioned table space and
  processed in native mode. Among these SELECT statements:
        - one requests the data be unloaded into a GDS or PDS
  member designated through a TEMPLATE statement
        - one requests the data be unloaded into neither a GDS nor
  a PDS member defined through a TEMPLATE statement
  - case 2)
     - the tablespace involved in the unload is partitioned
     - a single output data set (OUTDDN or UNDDN) is requested
     - the output dataset is a GDS
     - the VUX025/PARALLEL parmlib parameter is set to a value
  greater than 1
     - no PARALLELISM option is specified
  

Local fix

• if applicable, consider one of the following method to
  circumvent the issue, depending on the case.
  - case 1) split up the UNLOAD command into two UNLOAD commands,
  each one with one of the SELECT statement mentioned above.
  - case 2) specify a PARALLELISM(n,,) option where n is the value
  set for VUX025/PARALLEL
