PH23904: HANGING SITUATION WHEN UNLOADING A SINGLE PARTITION FROM GLOBAL IMAGE COPY OF A PARTITION-BY-GROWTH TABLE SPACE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An unload from an image copy (COPYDDN option)
  hangs if the following conditions are full-filled:
  - the input image copy is a global image copy of a partitioned
  table space
  - the table space involved by the unload (i.e. the online table
  space) is a partition-by-growth table space
  - only one partition is to be unloaded
     - either because the online table space has only one
  partition
     - or because a ""PART n"" option is specified
  - the data is to be unloaded into a single output data set
  (OUTDDN or UNLDDN option)
  - the maximum number of partitions specified through the MAXPART
  option or the VUU060/ULMAXPAR parmlib parameter is set to 1 or
  the output data set is stored on tape
  

Local fix

• Use the DDLDDN feature to provide Db2 HPU with the DDL of the
  online object.
