APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ABEND878 RC10 when LE module CEEEV003 attempts to GETMAIN below
  the line memory during the execution of Db2 Admin Tool stored
  procedures ADBCRSP and / or ADBCRSU.
  On the failing system, the LE options defaulted to below the
  line stack and heap memory. Multiple abends occurred because
  there was not enough memory available below the line for
  recovery to execute after the initial failure.  When control
  returns to the user the error will be reported as SQLCODE -430,
  (stored procedure abnormally terminated).
  

Local fix

• Change the LE options for non-CICS programs to default stack and
   heap memory residence to ANYWHERE instead of BELOW.

  *                 Management (CM) feature.                     *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND878 RC10 in CEEEV003 occurs while  *
  *                      executing either the ADBCSRP or         *
  *                      ADBCRSU stored procedure. (These stored *
  *                      procedures are used during Change       *
  *                      Management processing.) The error       *
  *                      returned to the caller is SQLCODE -430. *

  The customer's LE defaults resulted in the stored procedures
  using stack and heap memory below the 16-MB line. The amount of
  memory available below the line was not sufficient to allow more
  than one instance of either stored procedure to run
  concurrently. This situation caused ABEND878 when a new stack
  was requested.
  

Problem conclusion

• Stored procedures ADBCRSP and ADBCRSU have been updated to
  include LE options that specify that stack and heap memory
  should be obtained above the line instead of using the defaults
  that are set for the LPAR.
