APAR status

  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • Force OSC to stop the initialize process, when the
    edit/compression routine definitions in the 'old' and 'new'
    DBD definitions are the same, but the values for
    IMSRESLB_EDC_DSN and NEWRESLB_EDC_DSN are different.
    This enhancement will prevent a possible database corruption.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR provides some enhancements *
    *                      related to edit/compression routine     *
    *                      replacement for OSC.                    *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    To prevent a possible database corruption, OSC has been enhanced
    as follows:
    - Stops processing in the initialize phase, when the definitions
    of the old and the new edit/compression routines are the same
    but the values for IMSRESLB_EDC_DSN and NEWRESLB_EDC_DSN are
    different.

    - To specify the keyword SKIP_OLC=YES is not allowed when

    replacing edit/compression routines.

    - The DD statements for the randomizer and the edit/compression

    routines have been separated in the OSC internal JOBs.
