PH23211: PASSWORD ON COMMANDLINE IS NOT MASKED CORRECTLY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When you run a wsadmin command on the command line that
  requires a password (e.g. serverStatus) and do not provide the
  password as parameter, if you type the password char by char
  via the keyboard it is masked by blanks.
  However, if you enter
  the password via COPY+PASTE, only the last character is masked
  by a blank.
  

Local fix

• Enter the password as parameter or via the keyboard.

Problem conclusion

• The program is updated to mask password regardless of input
  methods.
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
