Error description

  • The WSL created by Object Compare may include a DROP TABLE for a
table that resides in a universal tablespace (UTS), which
results in SQLCODE -669 (The object cannot be explicitly
    dropped) prior to Db2 12 FL506. For Db2 12 FL506 and later, the
DROP TABLE is successful, but SQLCODE -204 may be returned for
a subsequent DROP TABLESPACE of the corresponding tablespace.

    * SQLCODE -204 is issued because the *
    * DROP TABLE drops the table space also. *
    ****************************************************************
WSL contains a DROP TABLE for a table that resides in a UTS.
Before Db2 12 function level 506, DROP TABLE fails with
SQLCODE -669 because the table space must be dropped, not the
table. After Db2 12 function level 506, the DROP TABLE is
successful, but the later DROP TABLESPACE receives
SQLCODE -204 because the prior DROP TABLE drops the table space
as well. The SQLCODE -204 will typically be ignored and the
    final result is as expected.

Problem conclusion

  • To resolve the reported problem, only the DROP TABLESPACE will
be generated if the table resides in a UTS.
