Error description

  • If an Optim user issues the command 'DEL IN colname' while in
    an Access session and the colname value happens to also be a
    valid Optim command keyword Optim will treat it as an error
    issuing the message 'CANNOT FIND COLUMN'.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If a user is in an Access edit session  *
    *                      and issues a CHAnge or DELEte primary   *
    *                      command and the target column name is   *
    *                      a single character Optim may            *
    *                      incorrectly misinterpret it as a        *
    *                      command keyword and treat the           *
    *                      command as invalid.                     *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the fix provided.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    The parsing of the DELETE command was flawed causing the
    column name to be misinterpreted.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Optim's command parser was incorrectly treating the single
    character column name within the command as a keyword if it is
    found within its command parameter keyword table.
