APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The ClearCase MVFS driver shipped in the 9.0.2.0 GA release is
    an unsigned device driver, preventing current Windows releases
    from loading the driver.
    

Local fix

  • Essentially none. One can disable driver signing verification
    manually, but this setting reduces the security of end-user
    workstations.

    * system event log: The IBM Rational ClearCase Multi-Version   *
    * FS for NT10.0 x86_64 service failed to start due to the      *
    * following error:  Windows cannot verify the digital          *
    * signature for this file.                                     *

    * This is a product packaging error, the signed driver modules *
    * were not including in the final release.                     *

Problem conclusion

  • This is fixed in ClearCase 9.0.2.1.
