Error description

  • DB2 Object Compare.  Compare of identical sequences finds
differences and causes a drop/recreate.  For example,
TEST.SEQ1 is defined in two subsystems with the same DDL:


Compare SEQUENCE source(TEST.SEQ1) and
target(TEST.SEQ1)
(D)Field DATATYPE changed from BIGINT to BIGINT
Sequence TEST.SEQ1 will be dropped
Sequence will be recreated

The difference should not appear, since the sequences were
created with the same DDL.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Compare incorrectly reports a drop and  *
*                      recreate of two identical sequences.    *

Comparing two identical sequences might result in an incorrect
compare report indicating that the sequence will be dropped and
recreated due to an incorrect precision value internally for the
data type BIGINT. No changes should be reported.
