Error description

  • HIOP storage increase in a nonshared queue environment each
time the QCF ISPF user interface is used.
QCF has not returned a buffer obtained from HIOP storage for the
following operations under the QCF ISPF user interface:
    (1) Choose a Row action or a Table action from the Display
Waited Tasks panel (IQCP94A) on the QCF Main Menu option 4-
        Wait
    (2) Choose 1-Edit or 2-View from the Queue Space Notification
Tables panel (IQCP71A) on the QCF Main Menu option 5-Tables
    (3) Choose 1-Edit or 2-View from the Queue Space utilization
notification parameters panel (IQCP71AS) on the QCF Main
        Menu option 6-Notify
Each time the user does one of the above operations, a buffer
of about 160K bytes is left in HIOP storage.
If it reaches the upper expansion limit of the HIOP storage,
MSGDFS0637W is displayed and no one can obtain a new buffer from
HIOP storage and IMS needs to be recycled. DFS0637W

Additional Symptom: ABEND0C4 in IQCCQAT0 at x'7118', or at x'FC'
    past label CQAT8000. ABENDS0C4 S0C4

Problem conclusion

  • QCF has been changed to return the buffers obtained from HIOP
storage for the internal Queue Space Notification function.
