Error description

• If Admin Tool cannot identify a valid Db2 release for a package,
  then the RD ("Regenerate a DBRM member") line command on panel
  ADB21K ("ssid PACKAGES") may fail with the following message:
  
  BND2177E  DB2 releases earlier than 2.3 are not supported;
  >package< was not generated
  
  This error may occur, for example, if the REMOTE field in
  SYSIBM.SYSPACKAGE is set to 'Y'.

  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A misleading BND2177E message might     *
  *                      be issued when regenerating a remote    *
  *                      package. The message erroneously        *
  *                      indicates that the Db2 release is       *
  *                      older than version 2.3.                 *
  ****************************************************************
  A remotely bound package might not have a Db2 release
  indicator in the expected location for the DBRM regen function.
  The release value remains blank or 0, causing the following
  BND2177E message:
  
  BND2177E DB2 releases earlier than 2.3 are not supported;
  >package< was not generated
  
  With this fix applied, regen uses the RELBOUND value in
  SYSIBM.SYSPACKAGE for the release indicator. If RELBOUND
  is invalid, a BND2181E message is issued and the DBRM is not
  rebuilt.
  
  Note: If the HOSTLANG field in SYSIBM.SYSPACKAGE is blank,
  a BND2161W message is issued and the DBRM is rebuilt. The
  job terminates with RC=04. To avoid this situation, add the
  statement "DEFAULTS LANGUAGE=lang" where lang is a language
  that is supported by Bind Manager regen.
