Error description

  • This APAR addresses two issues that arise on panel ADB26COV when
using the AL line command to change the COMMIT ON RETURN
parameter of a native stored procedure:

    1. If COMMIT ON RETURN is already set to 'Y' or 'N': Only Y or N
can be selected; option 'A' ('AUTONOMOUS') is rejected as
    'Invalid Value'.

    2. If 'COMMIT ON RETURN' is already set to 'A', then it cannot
be changed to 'Y' or 'N'.

Local fix

  • Use the ALT line command instead of line command AL.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Users cannot change whether a native *
    * stored procedure is autonomous by using *
    * the AL line command. *
    ****************************************************************
Panel ADB26COV does not allow users to modify a native stored
procedure to be defined with AUTONOMOUS, or to modify it from
AUTONOMOUS to COMMIT ON RETURN YES or NO. The panel
needs the ability to issue an ALTER PROCEDURE ALL VERSIONS
    statement to allow these changes.

Panel ADB26COV will include a new primary command,
ALLVERSIONS, that, when issued, will display the
ALL VERSIONS clause instead of the ACTIVE VERSION or
VERSION number clause. After issuing the new command,
a new primary command, ACTIVEVERSION , will take its
place, and a user can toggle between the two
    primary commands.

The stored procedure panel, ADB21O, should also have
a way for users to display the ALTER panel with
ALL VERSIONS specified. A new line command, ALAV,
will be added to allow users to do that.
