Error description
NEW FUNCTION UPDATE OF DB2 NATIVE RESTFUL SERVICES SUPPORT Addtional Keywords: Db2REST DDFREST
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All users of DB2 for z/OS native RESTful * * services. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * This APAR provides updates to Db2 * * native RESTful services that allow a * * Db2 requester to remotely free a * * service on a Db2 server. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Previously delivered APAR PH14688/UI65644 allowed copying existing services from a source Db2 system to a remote Db2 server. However, there is no method of remotely freeing the newly copied services on the target server. To do this required the DBA to log onto the target server in order to perform a DSN FREE SERVICE. Another method is to invoke the DROP SERVICE API through a Rest client at the target server. A method of remotely freeing a native Restful service can improve usability and ease of deploying services across systems. This APAR allows a user to specify location-name in the DSN FREE SERVICE command. The location-name specifies the location of the target Db2 server where the service is to be freed. Before you begin: - See FREE SERVICE (DSN) for information about required authorization to issue the FREE SERVICE subcommand. - Both the local and remote server must be at least Db2 12 with this APAR applied. The following example frees the REST service "payroll"."getEmployeeSalary" with a version-id of Ver2, on a remote server with the location-name PRODSYS: FREE SERVICE(PRODSYS."payroll"."getEmployeeSalary".(Ver2))
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Comments
This APAR allows a user to specify location-name in the DSN FREE SERVICE command. The location-name specifies the location of the target Db2 server where the service is to be freed. Refer to the Db2 for z/OS documentation in the IBM Knowledge Center for complete information about the updated Db2 native REST services support.
