Error description

  • You are using the CICS IPCS VERBEXIT DFHPDxxx where 'xxx' is
    the release number. You are formatting out parts of the File
    Control domain, and the formatter abends with an S605 abend,
    RC=18.
    .
    In the SYSTRACE of an SVC dump of the S605 (you may
    need to set a SLIP TRAP to capture the SVC DUMP) you find that
    the area pointed to by R1 on the SVC call is not a valid
    parameter list for the SVC 5 call. An RC18 on the SVC5 call
    means;
    .
    An error occurred when the system tried to process an
    EC, EU, LC, LU, VC, or VU form of the FREEMAIN macro. A reason
    code in the SDWACRC field of the system diagnostic work area
    (SDWA) explains the error:
     18 - The address list is in
    protected storage.
    .
    The error may not occur if you run the
    formatter again, or if you run it on another LPAR. Whether the
    abend occurs depends on the residual data at the address
    pointed to by the parameter list for the SVC 5 call.
