Error description

  • Description:
    
    When using the TFUI if custom fields are updated/changed they do
    not appear on the Audit Change Report unless they are included
    in the Detail View of the user profile.  Note, this does not
    happen with standard OOB fields.
    
    Prerequisites:
    
    1.	Log into OpenPages as the Administrator
    2.	Switch to the Standard UI if necessary
    3.	Create a new field
    a.	Navigate to Administration -> Object Types -> Select
    SOXBusEntity (For this example we will use SOXBusEntity but this
    would happen no matter what object type is being used)
    b.	Under the ?Field Groups? click on OPSS-BusEnt
    c.	Next to ?Field Definitions? click on ?Add?
    d.	Give the field a name and type of ?simple string?
    e.	Enable System Admin Mode
    f.	Click ?Create?
    g.	Disable System Admin Mode
    4.	Add the field to the profile
    a.	Navigate to Administration -> Profiles
    b.	Select the profile your users is in (for this example
    OpenPages Modules Master)
    c.	Under Object Types select SOXBusEntity
    d.	Next to ?Object Fields? click on ?Include?
    e.	Select your new field created above
    f.	Click ?Include?
    5.	Create the object record
    a.	Navigate to Organization -> Business Entities
    b.	Click the ?Add New? button
    c.	Fill in the required fields
    d.	Click ?Save?
    6.	Switch back to the TFUI
    a.	In the URL remove everything from /app/jspview to the end
    b.	Press Enter
    7.	Create a new view that includes the newly created field
    a.	Click on the ?Gear Icon? and select ?Manage Views?
    b.	Click ?Add New?
    c.	Check the box for ?Use as default view for this object?
    d.	Select Business Entity as the Object Type (of whatever object
    type you are using)
    e.	Enter a name for the view
    f.	Type = Task
    g.	Click ?Add?
    h.	Add Fields to the view with Design Viewer
    i.	Add any fields you wish, ensure you add your new field and at
    least two others
    ii.	Click ?Publish? to publish the view
    
    Steps to Reproduce:
    
    1.	From the TFUI navigate to the Object Record created
    a.	Click the flyover menu in the upper left corner to pop out
    the menu
    b.	Expand Organization
    c.	Select Business Entities
    d.	Search for the object record created previously
    e.	Make updates to the fields including the custom field
    f.	Save
    2.	Run the report
    a)	Switch to the Standard UI
    b)	Navigate to Reporting -> Audit Reports -> Audit Change
    c)	Fill in the prompts as follows
    i.	?Select a Business Entity? = record created before
    ii.	?Enter Start Date and Time? = on day prior to today
    iii.	?Enter End Date and Time? = on day after today
    iv.	?Select an Object Type? = Business Entity
    v.	?Select a Status? = Changed
    d)	Click ?Finish?
    e)	Note that your custom field does NOT show in the report
    

Local fix

  • Include the fields in the ?Detail View? of the profile
