PH19351: ADMIN TOOL CANNOT GET CORRECT INFORMATION FROM THE DFSDF MEMBER WHEN THE SECTION HEADER STARTS FROM COLUMN 2 OR LATER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Admin Tool cannot get correct information from the DFSDF member
  when all of the following conditions are satisfied in the DFSDF
  member:
  - The COMMON_SERVICE_LAYER section is described
  - The subsequent section header ('<SECTION=') starts from column
    2 or later
  

Local fix

• Update the DFSDF member so all section headers ('<SECTION=')
  start in column 1

  Administration Tool cannot get correct information from the
  DFSDF member when all of the following conditions are satisfied
  in the DFSDF member:
  
  - The COMMON_SERVICE_LAYER section is described
  - The subsequent section header ('<SECTION=') starts from
    column 2 or later
  
  In this case, Administration Tool erroneously skips the
  subsequent section. As the result, this causes the following
  errors:
  
  - Administration Tool does not recognize IMS Catalog if the
    subsequent section is the CATALOG section
  - Administration Tool does not recognize IMS Catalog is
    unregistered in the RECON if the subsequent section is
    the DATABASE section
  - Administration Tool does not get RDDS name if the
    subsequent section is the DYNAMIC_RESOURCES section
  
  By these errors, the following functions are unavailable:
  
  - Catalog and ACBLIB Management
  - IMS SPUFI
  - To decode the control blocks from IMS directory in the
    Database and Application Administration function
  - When resource change of the Database and Application
    Administration function is performed, DBDs and PSBs are not
    updated in IMS directory and IMS catalog
  

Problem conclusion

• IMS Administration Tool has been fixed as follows:
  
  - Administration Tool correctly analyze the section in the
    DFSDF member even if the section header starts from column 2
    or later
